Blossoms in the Dust (1941)

A movie poster with a person and person

Description automatically generated

After the tragic suicide of her adopted sister, who couldn't live with the knowledge that she was born illegitimate, Edna Gladney makes it her mission to care for and find homes for every "unwanted" child in the state of Texas. But, in 1900s America, this task is difficult if not impossible. Even so, Edna rises to the occasion, ardently defending her children against the naysayers and critics who claim illegitimate babies are of no use to the world. But, even after years of success, part of Edna's quest still eludes her. She's unsure of what it is but she has a feeling that it will draw her back to the heartache that began her work so long ago.

Based on the true story of an amazing Pro-Life woman, Blossoms in the Dust is a perfect holiday movie for anyone in the fight for life. Starring Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon this film deserves a place on your shelf and in your holiday festivities.

Available on YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV

  It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

George Bailey really had a wonderful life. Dearly loved, friend to everyone, happy husband to a doting wife and cherished father to adoring children, there was seemingly nothing that George could want for. And yet, every man reaches a tipping point when he begins to wonder how much of an impact he’s really had on the world. If his life has really meant something or if it’s worth anything at all. Facing this quandary on a chilly Christmas Eve George begins to suspect that the world would be better off without him and nearly makes that thought an unchangeable reality when an unlike hero, Clarence the wingless angel, steps in to save him and teach George the simple truth that every life has value and purpose.

Directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed this beautiful tale of Christmas is a classic that hundreds of people have watched and rewatched over the years. But it’s never too late to watch it again, especially considering the story’s beautiful Pro-Life message that should be at the forefront of everyone’s minds at this time of year. Every life does have a purpose, we need only have the eyes to see it.

Available on Amazon Prime and Hulu

Heartbeat Press stands with Israel!

As part of our Christian beliefs, we here at Heartbeat Press recognize Israel's status as God's chosen people and condemn those who would see it wiped from the face of the earth.

But beyond that, we recognize and lift up the Pro-Life groups that exist in Israel. Not only are they continually concerned with the preservation of preborn life but now they must also consider the value of all life in the midst of a war zone.

In times like this is is abundantly clear why the Pro-Life movement is founded on and must cling to God's plan. No earthly power can protect these brave Pro-Lifers but they know that the Lord has sustained them for a reason and will hold them safely in his hand until their work is finished.

Join us as we keep our brothers and sisters covered in prayer.
